The dog screamed at the tree his owner calls cops immediately
Something about quarantine is really bringing all the Kyles and Karens out in force. In the latest example, a white woman by the name of Amy Cooper called the cops on a black man for requesting that she leash her dog in a public park.
In a viral video circulating online, Amy Cooper can be seen in New York’s Central Park grappling with her unleashed dog. A man who had already requested that she leash her dog begins filming at the start of the video. The woman seems to be ignoring the man behind the camera. According to the woman who shared the video, the man filming is her brother, Christian Cooper, who is not related to Amy Cooper. After a moment, the woman realizes that she is being filmed and approaches the camera. Christian Cooper can be heard asking her to keep her distance as she nears, saying, “Sir, I’m asking you to stop recording me.” She repeats this request several times in the video. Her dog is restrained by a somewhat loose collar the entire time and appears extremely distressed due to Amy Cooper’s clear agitation. She rarely stoops low enough to let the dog’s front paws touch the ground. When Christian Cooper refuses to stop recording, Amy Cooper announces that she is calling the cops, saying, “I’m going to tell them there’s an African-American man threatening my life.”
Many commenters have pointed to this moment in particular as the most troubling in the video. Police altercations with black men far too often end in bloodshed. Social media users say it’s entirely possible that Amy Cooper was knowingly putting Christian Cooper’s life in danger. By the end of the video, Amy Cooper’s dog appeared very distraught. Amy Cooper’s aggressive handling, combined with a stressful environment, pushes the curly-haired dog to spin in more and more agitated circles around its owner during the entire video. It appears to be struggling for air as Amy Cooper gets police on the line, repeatedly informing them that an African-American man was recording her and threatening her and her dog. Her dog loses its patience, audibly struggling for breath. It begins desperately attempting to shift its stance so that all four paws can be on the ground. Meanwhile, Amy Cooper appears on the verge of hysteria as her dog finally collapses at her feet, gagging and coughing for air. Amy Cooper practically screams into her phone, “I am being threatened by a man in the Ramble.
q12Please send the cops immediately.” Moments later, she finally attaches the leash to her gasping dog’s collar. Christian Cooper thanks her and ends the video, having finally had his simple request adhered to. The online reaction was swift; within a day, hashtags #FireHer and #AmyCooper were trending on Twitter. After people discovered Amy Cooper’s employer, demands for her firing began dominating Twitter timelines. Many people noted our nation’s long history of white women making groundless accusations against black men. “There’s nothing shocking about what #AmyCooper did,” one user tweeted. “Black men have been thrown in jail, lynched, and burned alive for [stuff] like this. These Karens have been the backbone of white supremacy.” Other users were outraged by her treatment of the dog. They demanded that her dog be taken away and placed in a safer environment.
Some users noted a concerning trend they discovered on Amy Cooper’s Instagram. In the short time she’s owned her dog, he seems to have experienced an inordinate number of accidents. One user jokingly called it “Munchausen by proxy.” Update: At 2:43 PM Central Time on May 26th, after placing her on administrative leave and investigating the situation, Cooper’s employer decided to terminate her. “Following our internal review of the incident in Central Park yesterday, we have made the decision to terminate the employee involved effective immediately. We do not tolerate racism of any kind at Franklin Templeton,” the company announced on Twitter. There were repercussions when it comes to her dog as well. The rescue from which she obtained her dog, Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniel Rescue, Inc., posted an update to its Facebook page following the viral video. “As of this evening, the owner has voluntarily surrendered the dog in question to our rescue. While this matter is being addressed,” the rescue wrote in the statement. Amy Cooper said she wanted to publicly apologize, adding she is not racist and that she did not mean to harm that man in any way. “What happened with this puppy was very crazy.”
Trees, of course, are supposed to have bark, but not like this. A pair of off-duty troopers from the Kentucky State Police were helping to mow a cemetery lawn on Thursday when they heard what sounded like a dog in distress emanating from a forested area close by. So, they decided to investigate. At first, they had trouble locating the source of the noise, and it soon became clear why. The dog had been making all that racket; it was literally trapped inside the trunk of a tree.
His name was Rocco, and his little pup face was all that poked through. The troopers surmised that the dog had ended up there after crawling through a narrow, grounding hole nearby, which evidently led to a hollow cavity in the tree trunk. As a result of that misadventure, Rocco got himself thoroughly stuck. Amusing as the scene might have been, the troopers didn’t hesitate to call for help. Soon, first responders from the Salem Fire Department were on hand to assist. With no other way to extract Rocco from his wooden confines, they were forced to carefully cut a new opening into the side of the tree. Luckily, for Rocco, his rescuers’ efforts paid off. According to police, the tree was successfully stripped of its bark, so to speak, and the little dog who provided it was safely reunited with his owner. There’s no telling if the dog learned his lesson after his lucky break from his big mistake, but those who helped him out say they aren’t taking any chances. The opening in the tree was made larger, should Rocco or another dog find themselves inside the tree again.
This was a shocking discovery, a scene to behold. He spontaneously pricked his ears up as he put his nose to the ground. This was something that Thomas hadn’t ever seen his dog do before not like this. Anyway, they must have stumbled onto something huge. His big paws pressed into the soft soil he was as still as a statue. He felt compelled to check out the tree that his dog was so interested in, but he knew it would be an ordeal all right. He could fill his pulse race as his palms became clammy. He wouldn’t have believed what he had stumbled on if he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, instant love when the Thomas family first laid eyes on Dan, the grizzled ex-police dog. They fell in love with him instantly. He had spent eight years as a service dog and had just retired.
He was ready to live out the rest of his life, laying around being loved after they adopted Dan, the family loved, nothing more than taking him on works. Every day they would often take him to the Woodlands close to their home Dan loved to chase the squirrels he found, even though he could never catch them, but there was something else that caught his eye. Something was wrong. It was like any other normal day, walking Dan until they noticed that something wasn’t quite right with him. He was acting strange. He was tense sniffing around with purpose. Maybe it was old reflexes from his days as a service dog either way. Something was definitely off. Dan. Had been to two of their families before the Smiths, the last two were only temporary because he hadn’t retired as a police dog yet and still had more crime fighting to do gentle soul with all of his police training. Dan’S strengths were an information gathering.
He was a real detective, but when it came to having to be aggressive, it was just wasn’t his nature. He’D still defend any officers he was with and now his new family, if he needed to once Dan, had gotten his new partner officer Sam. His training picked up and he soon learned to be more aggressive when the situation demanded it, he would often defend his new partner with his life. A great Duo. A service dog would more often than not go out on patrol with multiple officers, but when it came to Dan, he just wouldn’t listen to anyone the way he did to officer Sam the two made a great team and shared a special kind of bond together. So the two were on permanent Duty together. Dan was even adopted by Sam when Dan’s time on the force was coming to an end. Sam wanted more than anything, to keep him, but with him still on duty, he couldn’t look after him. Dan deserved a loving home with constant attention and Sam knew. He couldn’t give him that he decided to do what was best for him. That’S why he gave him to the Thomas, the Thomas, family and Dan were getting along really well. They ended up exercising way more than they used to because of the daily walks, and they felt reassured that they had a new Guardian that would keep them safe until they went for a normal walk in the woods one day their house was in the countryside and Had a massive Woodland that surrounded it on all sides, it was a great park for Dan. Any normal dog would have run rampant in the woods chasing after all.
Manner of wildlife, but Dan found something else. The day started out as it usually did. They started their walk and Dan bounded ahead of them. They walked the path that they always had. Then Dan insisted they go explore a different route. That’S when the family noticed that their dog was acting very strange. Dan had never been out of the city. For this much time before, he loved his daily walks in the woods with his new family, but today there was something different, something they hadn’t anticipated for some time when Dan was at home, he started acting strange. He didn’t want to eat and wasn’t animated, as he normally was, but on the walk he was happy with his tail wagging and bounding about in the wood. They could see that this is how he must have been while he was still in his service. His old reflexes for police days kicked in, as he started, burying his nose in the earth following a trail only visible to him. The family tried to call him back to the path, but he was too focused on the scent it wasn’t out of the norm.
For a dog to sniff the ground, sometimes on walks Dan would sometimes find all manner of wildlife while they walked one time he had even found someone’s old clothes. If this Hidden Trail had something to hide Dan would seek it out and find it, but the scent that he had found this time seemed to make him anxious something the family had never seen before they had to keep going now that they were invested, the family Felt that it was strange behavior for Dan, maybe above them there was something hiding in the trees, a small animal. Perhaps it could have been taunting their dog knowing that he couldn’t catch them, but as they looked up, all they saw were Twisted branches. Where leaves would be in Spring Dan had found something that so far was invisible to them. What had he found? The family started getting nervous too Thomas called him again, but it was no use. Instead, Dan laid down Frozen Tom wasn’t sure what to do so.
He called Sam Dan X’s partner Sam explained that Dan was trained to do this. If he picked up a scent that was out of the ordinary or presented a danger. He told Thomas to investigate the tree, but to be careful as it could be dangerous. Is it drugs Thomas thought? No, what he’d find was so much worse. As Thomas approached the tree, he saw that the bark was loose Dan began to bark loudly feeling encouraged Tom braced himself and peeled it back revealing the hollow inside of the tree after peering into the dark. Suddenly his eyes focused and he jumped back it – wasn’t drugs. Dan on high alert awaited his follow-up command. Without a moment’s hesitation, Thomas pulled out his phone and called the only person he could think to report it to he. Shakily dialed Sam’s number Sam, highly Disturbed and utterly incredulous rushed to gather forensics experts before they all raced out to the scene. For Sam, the trip down to Dan’s new home was excruciating.
It took far longer than he realized after two hours on the road. They were still driving Sam had been so busy with work that he hadn’t been to visit Dan. Since he had been adopted by the Thomases. He felt a stab of guilt about his old partner as they finally arrived as soon as he sees the familiar sight of the Cruisers Dan Kent contain his excitement. He runs towards them to a reunion that would drive you to tears, but with a serious matter to attend to Sam Soon made his way to the tree. He pulls back the tree, bark, his heart races as Dan urges him on with his barking his eyes pop. As he confirms, the heinous sight Smith and described to him Dan had led him to a human skeleton that had been stashed within the tree.
However, it was so well packed within the tree that they had to carefully chop it down to assess what they were dealing with as they continued their work. Smith was amazed at how Lively Dan became it was like he was back to his normal self Smith noted how much Dan loved Jon, but while he was watching Dan new information was unfolding out of his depth officer Sam felt completely out of his depth when he Saw the remain stashed in the hollow tree, ready to inform his chief police officer so that they could send more reinforcements out. He began to dial, but just before he could get a hold of the station. Someone stopped him. The forensics experts he’d brought with stopped him before he could place the call, and it was a good thing. They did they unpacked their tools and began to analyze the skeleton to try and place its origin. Usually, forensic investigators need at least a week to conclusively determine whose remains had been found and where or what they had originated from. They had stopped Sam from making the call, because what they had discovered meant that further investigation wouldn’t be necessary. In this case, they already had everything they needed. The skeleton was a life-sized human skeleton, but it was also a real someone must have planted it as a Halloween scare, a prank within the tree, bark and forgot about it. They laugh and relief, but what they couldn’t understand is why Dan would alert them to a situation like this. He would have been trained to learn the difference between non-threatening and threatening smells.
